Expert Verdict

The GL-iNet Brume 2 (GL-MT2500/A) is a compact, OpenWrt-based security gateway featuring a MediaTek MT7981B dual-core processor, 2.5Gbps WAN, and 1Gbps LAN ports. It excels at VPN cascading and remote network access, though users should be aware of potential thermal limitations and the vendor's tendency to ship beta-stage firmware.

Best For

Ideal for power users and IT professionals needing a compact, OpenWrt-compatible VPN gateway; avoid if you require plug-and-play stability without potential thermal or firmware maintenance.
