Buying guide: Gaming Controllers

Expert Verdict

The EasySMX X05 Pro is a highly capable budget controller featuring Hall Effect joysticks and triggers for drift-free precision, alongside a 1000Hz polling rate for responsive wired and 2.4GHz wireless performance. While it excels in quiet operation and ergonomic comfort, the "hair trigger" mode lacks the short travel distance of true competitive alternatives, making it less ideal for rapid-fire shooters.

Best For

Budget-conscious gamers who prioritize quiet operation and drift-free Hall Effect sensors, but who do not require professional-grade hair triggers for competitive shooters.

Pros

+Hall Effect sensors on sticks and triggers eliminate stick drift and physical wear.“Hall Effect sensors use magnets to detect movement... effectively making stick drift a thing of the past”techxreviews.com
+Quiet button and trigger mechanisms allow for gaming without disruptive clicking noises.“the triggers, bumper buttons, and d-pad are extraordinarily quiet”gamingnexus.com
+Adjustable trigger stops allow switching between full analog travel and shorter button-like presses.“toggle switches at the back of the controller that change the travel distance”tech-fairy.com

Cons

−Trigger stops have excessive travel distance compared to true competitive hair triggers.“hair trigger mode doesn't feel like a "true" hair trigger, and the travel distance is almost two times higher”wccftech.com
−Turbo functionality lacks an "auto" mode, requiring the button to be held down.“It only supports the manual type of turbo though. The one where it keeps firing the button as long as you are holding it down.”tech-fairy.com
−Bluetooth connectivity performance is significantly less stable than 2.4GHz or wired modes.“However, the Bluetooth performance brings us back to reality.”techxreviews.com
