The BE6500 is a Wi‑Fi 7 router with multi-link operation (MLO), 4K‑QAM and multi‑gig Ethernet (2.5G) plus VPN throughput claims; it also has 128 MiB NAND and stock QCA drivers that complicate upstream OpenWrt support. Good if you need Wi‑Fi 7 features (MLO, 4K‑QAM) and high VPN/throughput, but expect flashing/firmware workarounds and limited stock NAND/storage for advanced open‑firmware use.
Buy if you want Wi‑Fi 7 features (MLO, 4K‑QAM) and high VPN throughput and can handle advanced flashing; avoid if you need turnkey OpenWrt support or large on‑device storage.
